Sports-related Spin-offs

Volans Rowing

Making rowing accessible for a wide audience, that is the aim of Volans Rowing. As the owners Cees van Bladel and Lenneke de Voogd say: ‘An indoor rowing machine gives you a perfect workout. But rowing outdoors should also be possible for everybody, just like running, cycling or skating.’

The Volans boats are not much larger than a kayak but still give the feeling of a slim and slender racing skiff. There’s one difference: the seat doesn’t slide, but the rigger does – that is the part with the oars. The Volans boats are the result of a broad and open collaboration with various parties. In the development process, state of the art knowledge, technology and materials were combined with the craftsmanship and practical know-how of manufacturers. The Volans2 and the Volans Kids are both innovative and high tech.

Exo-L

The ankle sprain injury is a worldwide problem, and although the use of braces and tape reduces the accident risk during sports, athletes often reject them as a preventive measure due to discomfort and inflexibility.

The EXO-L Ligament was invented  to solve this problem. A solution was found by a fake ligament that refrains the ankle from spraining, while the ankle is free to make all other movements.

Vertepac

Vertepac is a collaboration between Jeroen Janssen and Stanley Sie. Two passionate and determined creative professionals with one single mission: to bring you the smartest ergonomic traveling gear out there. The Vertepac is the world’s first technical backpack with Extendable Parallel Spine™ – Technology. Simply put, it has its own spine. It mimics the mechanics of your own body, taking the load off of your shoulders without restricting your freedom of movement.
